The cold frame is filling up nicely.
I also planted out 10(ish) broad bean plants. I’ll pop some seeds straight in in a week or so, hopefully we’ll have loads of beans (great on toast :). We had problems with black fly last year so I’ll need to keep an eye on them.
Ian & Diane’s plant stall… a sure sign that spring is here… some good looking Rhubarb and Armeria (aka thrift) on there.
Fantastic looking Ricinus Impala seeds from Higgledy Garden, I planted these today, but got distracted so didn’t mange to get the rest in.
planted tomatos, leeks and spring onions.
just planted out the Jersey Royals (or International Kidney as they are known everywhere else but Jersey). I had a bit of help from Jesse and Gabe.
Its been sunny all day so me and Anj managed a bit of gardening too, tidying up and weeding mostly (bloody Ground Elder). I think I might have over done the trimming of the grasses it’ll be interesting to see how well they recover.
digging is done, tempted to try to keep it like this all year, don’t wan to mess it up by planting stuff in it.
rhubarb has only been in 1 year so not going to attempt to force it this year… maybe next?
also planted today/yesterday :
first sowing of Carrots and Spring Onion seeds
planted out broad bean plants
more broad beans, aubergines, and some salad leaves. I’m going to try to keep a list of the things I’ve planted and most importantly when, so I can remember to do them next year.
also went for a walk in Reydon Woods – a suffolk wildlife trust woodland. definitely going back when the blue bells are out.
